Pamela Miles at Reiki Medicine has an extensive collection of articles and research to download in pdf format.  Pamela Miles is the founder of the Institute for the Advancement of Complementary Therapies.  The fascinating article by Pamela Miles & Gala True PhD  Reiki - The Review of a Biofield Therapy, History, Theory, Practice and Research (2003) is well worth reading.

Touch Therapies for Pain Relief in Adults (2008) a study by So PS, Jiang Y, Qin Y This Cochrane report concludes that more research is needed, but experienced Reiki practitioners could reduce the amount of pain relief required.
